The Project Engineer will be an integral part of the engineering team, supporting the Project Manager in all operational aspects of construction projects.
Essential Duties:
Assist in coordinating and scheduling subcontractors and other resources.
Serve as the primary liaison between field operations and the central accounting department, ensuring accurate timekeeping and job cost accounting.
Collaborate with Area and Project Superintendents to develop short-term working schedules and track material needs.
Document quantities and field measurements for progress payments.
Generate Daily Extra Work Reports and submit them to Contract Administration for review.
Attend construction site meetings or pre-construction meetings as required.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing company procedures and regulations.
Process and track all submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Handle Staking Requests and prepare traffic control plans, scheduling weekly lane closures.
Perform takeoffs for plan changes and create daily time cards using HCSS, monitoring and adjusting field-generated time cards.
Provide administrative support for remote offices, including answering phones, scanning documents, filing, ordering supplies, and processing mail.
Skills Required:
Proficiency in reading blueprints and project specifications.
Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Basic proficiency in scheduling software, such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft P6.
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management, or an Associate’s Degree in Construction Management or a related field is required.
