DLZ Corporation is looking for a highly motivated team player to join our team in Detroit, Saint Joseph, Lansing, or Grand Rapids, MI. Our new Project Controls Specialist needs to be high-energy, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be willing to take on new tasks.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and process contract documents including obtaining internal legal review and certificates of insurance.
  • Assist in preparing contract specifications for projects.
  • Support Construction Administration for projects by processing shop drawings, submittals, RFI’s, and other project documentation
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and events.
  • Assist with preparation and tracking of project documentation and deliverables by maintaining an accurate project log.
  • Perform administrative support tasks, such as preparing mailings, process and prepare memos, correspondence, marketing materials, or other documents.
  • Control the issuance of project numbers and assist in the production and review of project file maintenance forms.
  • Assist with preparation of marketing proposals and presentations.
  • Operate telephone switchboard.
  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
  • Possess aptitude to act as a positive representative of DLZ and its core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 4 or more years administrative professional experience
  • Experience in an architecture, engineering or construction firm is preferred.
  • Experience with computerized phone system preferred.
  • Highly proficient with modern computer systems and software applications: Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, use and navigation of tool bars and searches.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign or other graphic design software applications is a plus.
  • Must have exemplary organizational, customer service and communication skills.
  • Have a high level of dependability and an unwavering professional demeanor.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
