Project Controls Professional – Remote (Part Time)

Jacobs is looking for an organized and driven Project Controls Professional - Remote. In this role, you'll maintain project ledgers showing budget line items, commitments, expenditures and forecasts. You’ll also perform project control tasks to assist the operations team with the success of the project from new project set up through monitoring of cost, schedule, budget, and procedures.

As a Project Controls professional, you’ll prepare project financial setup documents. Project Managers will rely on you for project execution support, as you provide them with weekly financial updates and prepare for and participate in monthly project reviews. You’ll also work with them and the operations team to establish and maintain a project work breakdown structure (WBS). As you perform weekly financial reviews, you’ll identify and make any necessary corrections. You’ll monitor budgets against actual costs and forecasts, ensuring accurate cost tracking.
Subcontract related responsibilities include preparing procurement forms for subcontract initiation, assisting with the subcontractor invoice review process, and track budget, expenditure and contract term for all subcontracts (and initiate term extensions and closures when needed). You’ll provide change management support, including maintenance of project change logs.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Professional experience in the engineering consulting industry as a Project Controls Professional setting up projects, managing budgets and schedules, and monitoring subcontracts
• An understanding of accounting fundamentals and practices
• Computer skills (working knowledge of Excel, Word, working knowledge of databases, and Outlook)

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

• Experience working in Ecosys (IPCS) and/or Primavera P6
• Previous experience and understanding of client contracts, bid and proposal documents
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to take direction, problem-solve, and complete tasks with minimal direction or supervision. Work expeditiously, willingness to work outside normal business.
