Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for aProgrammer/Principal Programmer Analyst(Level 2/3) - VR Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
We are seeking a dynamic individual with a diverse skill set that harmonizes both interpersonal and technical abilities. You are a great communicator and a creative problem solver and also someone who thrives both independently and as a team player. As a great team player, you will actively engage in the entire software development lifecycle, with a particular focus on C# code. You bring fresh perspectives and resourceful solutions to tackle unique challenges.
We're especially excited to welcome someone who is well-versed in Unity game engine and has experience creating immersive VR scenes using SteamVR or OpenXR. This role involves contributing to the development of military-based training content, making a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about cutting-edge technologies and impactful projects. This position may be filled at a Level 2 or a Level 3 based on the qualifications outlined below.
Basic Qualifications:
Programmer Analyst Level- 2:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in a STEM Discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with at least 2 Years experience in Aerospace, Aviation, Software Engineering, Design, Development, Manufacturing or Production; OR Masters in a STEM discipline with 0 years' of experience.
  • Although not required to start, Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance to include Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business need is required.
  • Experience with Unity Game Engine (SteamVR, OpenXR, or similar).
  • US Citizenship required.

Basic Qualifications:
Principal Programmer Analyst Level-3:
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in a STEM Discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with at least 5 Years experience in Aerospace, Aviation, Software Engineering, Design, Development, Manufacturing or Production; OR Masters in a STEM discipline with 3 years' of experience; OR PHD in STEM discipline with 0 years' of experience.
  • Although not required to start, Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance to include Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business need is required.
  • Experience with Unity Game Engine (SteamVR, OpenXR, or similar).
  • US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Unity game engine, principally related to C# code. Some examples include: OnTriggerEnter, Co-Routines, and Unity Events.
  • Experienced in developing code in a military, defense or similar environment.
  • Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle using the Agile process with Atlassian products (Scrum, Sprints, Jira, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Preferred degree in one of the following fields: Programming, Game Design, Computer Science, or similar.
  • Certifications (Unity Certified or similar)
  • Experience with 3D simulations / gaming technology / game design.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $99,800.00Salary Range 2: $82,000.00 - $123,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
