Responsibilities*
We are seeking a highly motivated, talented student programmer for a temporary opening for intensive work to develop an augmented reality simulation of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. This CVC-funded position involves developing a simulation that will allow us to better understand the lay rescuer response to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest under different conditions. The study will utilize a software application integrated into the Microsoft HoloLens 2 or similar headset, which will be developed using Unity3D. The software will have three primary functionalities. First, it will enable a virtual avatar to be positioned precisely using four quick response (QR) codes. Second, the avatar will be animated during an initial phase. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team consisting of researchers with expertise in medical education, health sciences and computer science and will work on a highly collaborative research project with multiple opportunities to interact with experts and thought leaders in their respective fields.
Required Qualifications*
Applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student with program development experience using Unity3D. In addition, the qualified applicant will have the following:
  • Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Receive and respond to constructive feedback
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work independently
