Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
Programmer must have the knowledge and capabilities to write and maintain programming code, test, and document according to standards and peer review. Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills and the ability to work individually or with a team, clients, and vendors. This position will also be required to help support the Administrative applications systems and interfaces.
This position follows a hybrid schedule working on campus and remotely, as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming
  • 3 year's software development experience
  • Experience using Java, JavaScript and SQL
  • Oracle and MySQL databases access and modification experience
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, ability to work individually or as a team player. Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize under pressure, and have good organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ year's RedHat Linux and Source Code Management software (Git)
  • Experience using Groovy, PHP, HTML, Grails
  • Administrative software experience and support of (Banner, DegreeWorks, Evisions, TouchNet, Moodle, Document Management, Enterprise Scheduler, Argos)
  • Salesforce experience

Other Information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, update and test applications using design methodologies and tool sets
  • Debug, maintain, and update existing program code by designing testing criteria, testing and fixing errors
  • Confirm and/or write project requirements by reviewing program objective(s), input data and output requirements with analyst, vendor and end-users
  • Provide end-user support of the current Administrative applications and interfaces in addition to any future software
  • Write and update documentation within code, in a wiki, and for end-user clients.
  • Maintain up to-date technical knowledge and provide recommendations as needed
  • Provide project and work-order status, issues, concerns roadblocks or challenges to both end-users, peers, and supervisor on a regular bases
