Responsible for designing systems and sub-systems with specific focus on creating and maintaining a data platform. Develops specification for new and existing systems. Strong understanding of the overall business and application usage within business. Provides recommendations on technical solutions to business needs in the organization. Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to team of software developers.
- Orchestrates technical solutions for data integration to improve business operations.
- Manage technical scope of projects from inception to close. Define, develop, and manage implementation schedules. Highlighting risks and issues to Data and Integration Manager, CTO Leadership Team, and stakeholders
- Collaborates with team members on best practices and promotes adherence to tech standards.
- Collaborates with architects and takes leadership role in product and tool selection for the development of specifications for new and existing systems.
- Collaborate with the CDO function and vendor management to strengthen the capabilities. Such as alignment on storage and availability or the "single version of the truth," ingesting new types of data and automating data quality.
- Defines and adheres to agreed standards, software development methodologies and procedures, using agreed tools in accordance with the technology strategy.
- Coordinates extensive projects with all relevant personnel and management. Is responsible for project execution ensuring deadlines are met.
- Leads a development team in a Scrum Agile setting
- Performs coding assignments.
- Reviews code work for accuracy and functionality.
- Creates and implements design plans.
- Analyzes code segments regularly.
- Delegates tasks to team members.
- Proactive recommends solutions which take into consideration costs, business needs, and system impacts.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and technology developments.
- May have supervisory responsibility over employees.
- Collaborate with business analyst to perform Data modelling.
Qualifications for Lead level:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technically related field, or equivalent education/experience.
- Minimum of 8 years work experience.
- Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical field with 6 years' experience is also acceptable.
Qualifications for Senior level:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technically related field, or equivalent education/experience.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience.
- Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical field with 3 years experience is also acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with Asset management Industry is highly recommended.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Be able to communicate risks and issues with CTO leadership teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Ability to resolve most complex problems and errors that occur for processes and applications in a division.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Good understanding of snowflake data platform will be a plus.
- Certifications related to AWS and Snowflake.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of cloud platform and cloud services is crucial.
- Prior experience related to leading or spearheading cloud-related projects.
- Adherence to change management policies and procedures without any compromise to ITCF controls.
- Record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.
- Experience working in agile teams, using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience creating test strategies for solutions and champion for test automation.
- Proven track record with coding in software development and its technologies.
- Extensive, proven experience in Data & Integration such as building data platforms is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of various programming languages like SQL, Python, Parquet, AWS services, Java, JavaScript, R scripting, etc
- Good understanding of Cloud based databases, cloud security. Should have fair experience to monitor cost and workload estimation of services used.
- Experience with usage of REST or GraphQL APIs (application programming interfaces).
- Good understanding of DevSecOps methods to improve development and operational efficiencies.
- Good understanding of cloud deployment, migration, and automation (CICD) is critical.
