JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Program Support Specialist
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
Classification/FLSA Status: Part-Time
Salary:$15/hour (20-29 hours a week)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Support Specialist is part-time position that will have an integral role in planning, promoting, delivering, and evaluating fun and educational programs that utilize the Girl Scout badge curriculum and other aspects of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. The Program Support Specialist will provide general program delivery support and will be responsible for developing, facilitating, and overseeing day camp programming and operations for a 2-week summer day camp program in Northern Kentucky.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Plan, promote, deliver, and evaluate a 2-week summer day camp program that utilizes the Girl Scout outdoor badge curriculum and other aspects of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in the Northern Kentucky area. (Additional hours will be required during this 2-week period: June 5-June 16)
2. Supervise and direct staff and volunteers assigned to work with the Day Camp program to lead group activities and other day camp staff duties.
3. Plan and manage day camp budget and data collection for effective program reporting and evaluation.
4. Manage program supplies and maintain and stock all Day Camp program equipment.
5. Maintains accurate records and provides accurate reporting as required.
6. Work directly with the Program Manager to ensure accurate event registration data entry for program opportunities and events.
7. Participates in training opportunities offered by council to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
8. General program delivery support in the Northern Kentucky area.
9. Ensure all girls and adults feel welcome by delivering the Girl Scout message of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging to all communities.
10. Active participation in the development of environments that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and access through words, actions, and attitude.
11. Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's or higher, or 2 years of related experience
  • Experience working with youth and passionate about developing girls into leaders.
  • Strong communication skills in written, verbal, and virtual delivery; experience developing and implementing action plans to meet/exceed deliverables; and experience working collaboratively to reach collective goals.
  • Experience working with youth and passionate about developing girls into leaders.
  • Must possess the ability to work with girls in a large group setting and be able to apply critical thinking, use of good judgment, and make positive decisions.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Previous experience in Girl Scouts (volunteer or staff) a bonus, but not required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Capability to provide own transportation and maintain a valid operator license.
  • Must be 21 years or older and able to successfully pass a background check.
  • Hold current certification in standard First Aid and CPR or be willing to attend training prior to June 2023.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to withstand:
  • Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, walking long distances, hiking, climbing, and stretching.
  • Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds)
  • Walking on uneven terrain, up and down hills for distances up to ½ mile multiple times each day
  • Endurance to meet emergency needs.
  • Ability to tolerate daily exposure to the sun and heat.
