Summary
The Finger Lakes VA Medical Center has 1 vacancy for a Program Support Clerk in Rochester, NY. This position will serve as a Facility-timekeeper for facility wide Nursing staff and other healthcare workers as appropriate.It will also assist with any Nursing Programmatic and Administrative support as assigned.

Duties
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION***
Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
  • Assist Recruiter and Nurse Managers with administrative support functions related to Nurse Recruitment and staffing incentives including but not limited to: reference checks, data entry in position management databases, creating recruitment flyers and packets.
  • Maintains documentation of Nursing Staff timekeeping processes for internal and external audits.
  • Facilitates timekeeping processes and corrective actions across the facility for all nurse managers and others to ensure accurate daily posting of time and timely submission of timecards each pay period.
  • Performs various office administrative functions such as: records management, creating reports, forms control, and administrative standing operating procedures.Performs backup coverage for the secretary to the ADPNS as needed.
  • Uses computer principles and programs (Microsoft, Electronic Mail, Word, Excel, etc.) and various databases.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. There is walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as papers, books, small parts; or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-04 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-03 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience requires one year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-04 level: Successfully completed two years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.
