Primary Purpose:
Provide consultative and technical work to facilitate the efficient operation of Strategic Initiatives with the primary emphasis on the Thompson Executive Leadership Institute hosting advanced training for high performing school superintendents and principals.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in a similar position
- Experience working with external groups, conference arrangements, and meeting facilitation
- Skill operating within a complex project, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
- Experience in self-directed tasks and teamwork
- Experience in managing and organizing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
- Experience with organizing workflow, responding to inquiries for multiple projects, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to the assignment
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as a team and collaborate with others on multiple simultaneous tasks
- Ability to disseminate information in a clear and concise manner to internal and external clients
- Ability to research in order to anticipate future needs of the department
- Ability to write, proof and edit documents
- Ability to integrate technology into professional development opportunities such as online courses, webinars, and web portals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel
Major Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Plan and organize Thompson Executive Leadership Institute sessions by collaborating effectively with director and staff
- Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
- Participate in program planning as designated by director as planned and implemented through ESC Events Planning Department
- Support conferences and other professional development events through planning and event management
- Coordinate communication and technical assistance with ESC personnel and project staff and participants, including creating correspondence templates as needed
- Process and track registration for statewide meetings, including but not limited to E-campus postings, preparation of name tags and rosters, and on-site participant registration
- Develop materials for professional development events, including graphic design, formatting, and page layout support
- Oversee aspects of production and distribution of products and communication with recipients
- Provide resource administration of project content, including regularly scheduled updates
- Maintain relationships with vendors and consultants assisting with projects
- Organize and accurately maintain records and documentation
- Provide research and inquiry support for projects as needed
- Serve as a back-up support to the Deputy Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
