Longleaf will be expanding the Birmingham Recovery Center location on a connected site with the construction of Longleaf Wellness Center. The new facility will be a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program, focusing on primary mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. In addition, Longleaf has secured a site to expand its substance use disorder and mental health treatment model to Huntsville, Alabama with Longleaf Recovery Center – Huntsville. Plans for further expansion to other areas of the state, such as Baldwin County, are underway.
Position Title: Program Nurse
Reports to: Medical Director
FLSA Status: (exempt or non-exempt)
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Medical Director, Program Nurse provides direct services to clients enrolled in outpatient treatment for a primary diagnosis of substance use disorder; Completes nursing assessments, conducts education & training sessions with clients, and the implements the program service requirements in order to address physical problems and promote general wellness.

- Conduct intake nursing assessments to evaluate client’s physical health status at time of treatment admission.
- Monitor physical health, nutrition status, and related behavioral or psychosocial issues that may present during course of treatment.
- Obtain medical history, particularly as it relates to the present condition, from the client or concurrent/ previous care providers when applicable.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to promote team approach to client care, notify staff of any significant health risks or concerns that may impact a client’s safety or success in treatment, and help to promote client wellness in recovery.
- Educate the client on medications and potential medication side effects.
- Complete and submit medical progress notes according to program policy. Maintain thorough documentation of all client interactions as well as any communication with outside or ancillary providers.
- Ensure proper maintenance of medical records.
- Reports any allegation or suspicion of client abuse, neglect or exploitation to management.
- Notifies management of any program policy or procedure violations.
- Abide by laws, regulations and standards of practice regarding Confidentiality and Ethics for the provision of treatment under the scope of license and certification.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
- Current Alabama Licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Completion of all training and education requirements necessary to maintain valid, active licensure.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Certified in First Aid/CPR or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire (Company will provide it needed)
Valid Driver’s License; Independent, reliable transportation
Must submit to and pass criminal background screening.
Must submit to pre-employment & random drug screening during employment.
Completion of continuing education courses and trainings as designated by program, state, and federal requirements as well as any education/training requirements of current license and/or certification boards.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
