Program Manager, Latin America Leadership Program - McDonough School of Business - Georgetown University

Pursuing the university's mission of teaching and service for the common good, Georgetown University's Latin America Leadership Program (LALP) regionally-focused experiential executive education programs that aim to educate, connect, and inspire regional leaders to create impact networks with a positive multiplier effect across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Job Overview
The Program Manager (“PM”) plans and executes the diverse activities related to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Georgetown UniversityLatin America Leadership Program 20 positive (LALP) programs - specifically its annual flagship executive education offers GCL, ILG, GBEL - and provides support for custom program implementation, and LALP series of public dialogues and alumni events.
In close coordination with the LALP Executive Director and Senior Associate Director, the PM spearheads the development of the LALP flagship program curriculum and coordinates the call for applications, selection, and admission process for these programs; and serves as the main POC for program participants, faculty, lecturers, mentors, and external stakeholders.
As well, they create and update program materials and program sites, leads and facilitates program sessions virtually and on campus, provides periodic programmatic updates to the program team, and administers and monitors program logistics in collaboration with the McDonough School's Office of Executive Education or other partners, as applicable.
As the primary POC for all LALP Advisory Committee matters, the PM assists with department internal processes and school-wide events, as required.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting to the LALP Assistant Director, the Program Manager works closely with both the AD and ED, and with other university schools to plan and implement LALP flagship programs.
As well, they interact with faculty, staff, students, departments, and centers across campus, including Georgetown Americas Institute, the Center for Latin American Studies, and the Center for the Rule of Law in the Americas. Externally, they work with vendors, speakers, mentors, alumni, LALP Advisory Committee members, and other donors and supporters for the management and outreach of LALP academic programs.
This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such review may necessitate a change to a position's mode of work designation. Note: Five (5) days on campus are required during in-person program implementation and special events; and some occasional travel to program locations may be required.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least one year of professional experience, preferably in the management of higher education programs or other academic or cultural programs or in a student affairs capacity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • A multi-tasker, extremely well organized, with
  • Good time management skills with ability handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously while consistently meeting all deadlines
  • Great communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to anticipate necessary actions and work on a schedule independently and under pressure. Desire to serve diverse cohorts of program participants and collaborate as a team member
  • Ability to resolve conflicts among a varied audience of program stakeholders
  • Proficiency in computers, technology, MS Office, and Google products

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working or living in Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain, or Portugal
  • Familiarity with class tech equipment
  • Knowledge of Portuguese
  • Familiarity with program management platforms, Workday, graphic design, and Qualtrics
