The North Dakota Advanced Agriculture Technology Engine, a collaborative endeavor between key private and public stakeholders across North Dakota, has been selected as an inaugural awardee for the U.S. National Science Foundation's (NSF) Regional Innovation Engines competition.
Reporting to the CEO, this position will be pivotal in shaping the public image and presence of the FARMS Engine. This role merges the realms of communications, outreach, and strategic marketing, ensuring that FARMS not only achieves widespread recognition but also fosters meaningful connections with stakeholders, partners, and the broader community. This position will develop and execute an overall, comprehensive communications strategy for FARMS, including developing communication resources and collateral materials, implementing and maintaining a robust online presence, and working with core partners on marketing and communication strategies. The ideal candidate should be a dynamic and creative marketer with a passion for storytelling. They must be adaptable, collaborative, and be able to resonate with diverse audiences. A genuine interest in AgTech and the vision of FARMS will be a significant asset.
This position is funded through an initial 2-yr, $15M National Science Foundation (NSF) Cooperative Agreement with an anticipated award up to 10 years and $160M. The role is a position at North Dakota State University, as the lead organization for the program.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
Schedule: 40 hours/week (M-F: regular hours 8am-5pm, summer/winter break hours 7:30am-4pm)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in community engagement, public relations, marketing, or communications
- Proven track record of designing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
- Proficient in digital marketing tools, including analytics, SEO, and content management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong creative, strategic, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- Experience in a nonprofit or research-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of North Dakota's local communities and regional economic development partners and their unique dynamics.
- Familiarity with NSF policies and procedures.
