Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing Renewable Energy Attribute programs and obligations for PSE&G, including payment for TREC, SREC II, OREC obligations and compliance with Energy Supply related renewable portfolio requirements. This includes monitoring related regulatory requirements, managing the relationship and interactions with third party administrators, vendors, banks, regulators, and other NJ Electric Distribution Companies (EDCs). Also responsible for ensuring appropriate internal processes are established that satisfy business requirements in an accurate and controlled manner, satisfying related regulatory requirements, executing processes and controls as needed, and supervising necessary resources (contractors or direct reports) to assist in execution of the same. Also responsible for working with the appropriate internal resources to ensure accurate cost accounting, cost recovery and contract formation.
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership & direction for renewable attribute program development and policy advocacy. Includes review, monitoring, and development of PSE&G positions related to renewable attribute policy (including TREC, SREC II, OREC and other renewable attribute and energy-supply renewable portfolio requirements), regulatory requirements and/or legislative developments, and program development related to the same
  • Establish, execute, refine and oversee payment and compliance-related processes related to renewable attributes, related process controls, and documentation
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoice processing. Work with internal and external resources to ensure proper process and control execution, cost recovery and accounting, and to improve procedures and automate where possible.
  • Ensure Company obligations are satisfied in regards to Renwable Portfolio Requirements compliance for BGS supply
  • Manage the relationship and interact with counterparties at NJ BPU, other NJ EDCs, attribute administrators, related vendors and banks - as it relates to renewable energy attribute program and process development, vendor onboarding, and process execution
  • Onboard and manage necessary resources (contractors) to assist in execution of program obligations and controls

Job Specific Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study with 9 years of demonstrated energy-related experiences establishing and managing data-intensive processes and controls
  • Demonstrated proficiency in independently interacting with internal resources (Legal, Accounting, Procurement, Audit/Controls), and building partnerships with external entities (other NJ EDCs, vendors)
  • Experience designing or improving processes and controls
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal skills

Desired
  • Experience programming macros in Excel with Visual Basic
  • Understanding of NJ regulatory process for utilities
  • Working knowledge of energy attribute programs and related systems, including PJM GATS
  • General knowledge of energy attribute programs and requirements
