General Summary

The Center for Cultural & Inclusive Excellence provides transformative leadership in creating a learning and work environment that is equitable and inclusive. The CCIE Program Coordinator is a classified, full time position reporting to the Director of the Center for Cultural & Inclusive Excellence.
The position provides support for the CLS/CCIE unit, as well as specialized technical/clerical support for CCIE. The position also functions as the program representative and resource, has extensive contact with program participants and partners, and resolves problems within a delegated area of authority.
This position is a classified full-time position and is eligible for overtime. Schedule: Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
SALARY INFORMATION: The above salary range reflects the starting step (Step C) Range 40 and ending step (Step M) salary for this classified position and includes a 5% King County compensation provision. As a new employed classified employee, based on annual increments, it will take 5 years to reach Step L on the salary schedule, 11 years to reach step M on the salary schedule. This does not reflect any contractual changes, legislative mandated salary increases or Cost of Living Increases (COLA's) that may be approved in the future.
Essential Tasks
Reporting directly to the Director of Center for Cultural & Inclusive Excellence, this position will:
Department Administrative Support and Liaison
  • Provide support to the Director and department including scheduling appointments, arranging meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, prepare travel and training documents;
  • Respond to inquiries and inform students of the procedures for participating in Center for Cultural & Inclusive Excellence and Center for Leadership and Service;
  • Assist the Director and staff in coordinating and arranging events and workshops including details such as room reservations, contract management, financial paperwork and promotional materials;
  • Collaborate, coordinate and provide support to other areas including inventory control for supplies, equipment and cash management;
  • Reconcile budgets and track and reconcile emergency loans;
  • Make referrals to campus departments and resources;
  • Monitor program activities in relation to established program goals and within established program parameters;
  • Maintain the Center for Cultural & Inclusive Excellence website, other departmental publications and SCALA Plasma screen for Highline Student Union;
  • Perform special projects as assigned;
  • Perform related duties as required.

Student Supervision
  • Conduct operational and administrative training for professional staff and student employees in CCIE department;
  • Supervise the front desk student team (Community Resource Consultants), including advising, training support and general oversight;
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one and team meetings with student team;
  • Participate in personnel decisions involving student employees;
  • Perform quarterly academic standing, progress, and GPA checks for all CCIE student employees.

Unit Collaboration
  • Participate in weekly department, one-on-one, and unit meetings;
  • Represent the department in campus committees as needed;
  • Attend and provide support during events, programs and conferences;
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned to support the offerings of CLS and CCIE work unit;
  • Collaborate with Conferences Services, Purchasing, Contracts, Travel, Finance, and other departments across the college.

KNOWLEDGE OF

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduation or equivalent; AND
  • Two years of full-time clerical experience; OR
  • Equivalent education/experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree
  • Bi-lingual;
  • Experience in an educational setting.
