Carmel Youth Assistance Program (CYAP) serves as an early intervention advocate for youth ages 3-17 residing within the boundaries of Carmel-Clay Schools who are facing challenging life circumstances. Leveraging the distinct legal authority of our Early Intervention Advocates, we collaborate closely with schools, law enforcement, and the judicial system to craft comprehensive intervention strategies. We coordinate our community’s vast array of talents, services, and resources to help youth and empower parents and caregivers.

About the Program Coordinator Position:
This is a 1099 position. We are seeking an outgoing, friendly, welcoming, team player with a commitment to our mission and values to join our team as our Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator connects students and families to our programs and services including tutoring, mentoring, and transportation. This position is a mix of administrative and program management tasks. You will guide the planning and organizing of programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties. As a representative of CYAP in the community, you will communicate with school personnel, families, referral agencies, and other organizations on behalf of CYAP to facilitate this coordination.
Responsibilities
● Manage a small but growing caseload of mentor and tutor matches
● Recruit, screen, orient, and provide training to all incoming volunteers and maintain up to date records of volunteer information
● Manage/complete data collection and provide reports as needed to Early Intervention Advocates
● Communicate with parents/guardians who are interested in the youth mentoring, tutoring, or transportation programs
● Conduct youth interviews and intake paperwork; meet with guardian when applicable
● Develop an annual Program Plan that includes tutoring, mentoring, and transportation program implementation and evaluation
● Identify, evaluate and propose solutions to program areas that need special attention
● Assist with creation and facilitation of new/additional programming as assigned
● Participate in staff development opportunities, board and committee meetings as needed
Location: Carmel, Indiana.

Requirements:
● Must have a valid Indiana driver's license
● Must be able and willing to lift and carry items 35-50 lbs
● Must be able to pass a federal and state background check
● Must be committed to maintaining confidentiality
● Must be able to work a limited number of weekends and evenings as needed
