The Internal Medicine division provides a full spectrum of evidence-based cancer and internal medicine care, including treatment, supportive care and prevention.
The 13 specialties in our division offer supportive care to treat side effects of cancer care, such as fatigue, neuropathy and skin reactions. Our hospitalist service, as well as our Emergency Center physicians, also play a vital role in the treatment of our acutely ill cancer patients.
Program Management (40%)
Works independently to coordinate the educational activities that support Pulmonary Medicine's various Education Programs'. Assist with the design of curricula and adhere to governing body, institutional, divisional and department requirements. Manages the recruitment and selection processes and manages the details for newly arriving fellows and trainees, including appointments, orientation, and information technology access. Coordinates the development, dissemination, and monitoring of rotation, didactic, and call schedules. Provides input in the development, coordination and distribution of lecture schedules and assist with the preparation of teaching material. Create and manage the fellow, faculty, and program evaluations. Offers guidance to students and trainees on the program policies and non-clinical aspects of the program. Compose correspondence and generate reports for the Program Director, the Site Director, and/or the Department Administrator in support of Pulmonary Medicine Education programs. Liaison and department representative for trainees, Graduate Medical Education and the Academic and VISA Administration -Trainee Alumni Affairs offices. Maintain current and thorough knowledge of ACGME policies and procedures that impact the program Maintain extensive knowledge of Visa requirements for various levels of trainees.
Resource Management (40%)
Maintains databases with trainee and faculty data, including New Innovations, Discover, and SLATE. Coordinate, track and maintain reports for clinical rotations. Create and routinely update the trainee handbook. Develop, implement, and manage the orientation program for trainees. Create and implement best practices to ensure optimized level of productivity and efficiency. Develop and maintain the policies and procedures applicable to department's programs. Ensures the training activities are compliant with all national, state, and local standards and institutional policies. Develop, cultivate, and maintain working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations associated with and/or receiving benefit from program.
Financial Management (20%)
Manages program budgets, in coordination with Program Director and Department Administrator. Gathers financial data for reporting.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Preferred Certification: None
Experience: Five years of related professional experience. May substitute education for additional years of experience on a one-to-one basis.
