The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) Program Assistant Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination of MCOT services by acting as the interface between various service lines within the Crisis department. This is a fast-paced position which requires attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.

The HMHI Crisis Team and Warm Line and are part of the Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI) Free Community Crisis Response Program. HMHI has teamed up with Salt Lake County and OptumHealth SLCo to provide free crisis response and hospital diversion programs that aim to keep all our family members, friends, and neighbors safe. The community crisis service programs are designed to provide community members with a full range of options to help solve the crisis in the best setting possible.
The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) is dispatched by the crisis response team to provide professional clinical services to those in need during a crisis event.

- Two years of related paid work experience.

Responsibilities
- Assists with program planning and implementation.
- Compiles, sorts, and organizes data for entry into a database, distributes program information, and conducts program research.
- Answers telephones and gives information to callers, takes messages, or transfers calls to appropriate individuals.
- Greets visitors and communicates with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints.
- Responds to queries from and coordinates activities with other departments, the community, and program partners.
- Assists in the creation and distribution of program materials, forms, and general correspondence.
- May track and report on current trends to determine future program needs.
- May provide program specific training.
- Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.
- Demonstrated effective communication and human relation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet software and database software.
- Knowledge of department's policies and procedures.
