Title:Professional Van Driver
Reports to: Director of Transportation and Special Education Transportation Coordinator
Job Goal: Provide safe transportation to all students
Terms of Employment: This is a 9 ½ month position. Salary $19.75/hr. 4 hour daily minimum, benefits established by the Board of Education.
Qualifications: •
Obtain proper license classification
• Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
• Display responsible leadership as a role model for the students
• Demonstrate positive public relation skills when dealing with residents and parents
• Display professional and defensive driving skills at all times
Responsibilities: •
Obey all traffic laws
• Observe all mandatory Federal and State safety laws/regulations for school buses
• Maintain discipline when students are in the van
• Report student management issues to the proper authority
• Keep assigned van clean
• Keep assigned van at least half full of fuel prior to parking
• Keep assigned schedule
• Follow the proper procedures in the event of absence or lateness
• Perform required pre-trip inspection and complete proper form
• Perform required post trip inspection following each run
• Exercise responsible leadership when servicing charters
• Transport only authorized students
• Discharge students only at authorized stops
• Report all accidents/incidents and complete all required paperwork
• Enforce and follow all policies established by the Board of Education
• Perform all other duties as assigned
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support service personnel.
