Description
The Professional Land Surveyor is responsible for planning, managing and completing multiple projects from start to finish. They are active in establishing and maintaining client relationships and in the marketing of G&A's Survey and other services.
Requirements
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Prepare proposals and negotiate contracts including scope, schedule and cost
Provide guidance and direction to office staff and field crews
Perform document research and review
Prepare, review, and sign boundary, topographic, as-built and other types of surveys
Prepare legal descriptions
Perform and prepare most types of land surveying plans, reports and documents
Calculate, setup and check stakeout for construction projects
Manage the financial aspects of projects; invoicing and collections
Ensure quality assurance/quality control of project deliverables
Compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and reports
Communicate technical information to those with and without technical understanding
Prioritize and manage multiple projects, subconsultants and internal groups
Proactive and responsive communication with clients
Establish new and maintain existing relationships with clients, subcontractors, etc.
Market, sell and cross-sell professional services for all disciplines and office locations
Essential Qualifications:
Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Pennsylvania
8+ years of survey experience
Desired Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related area
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Project management experience
Experience with managing support staff
Organized and detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral including the ability to compose letters and complex reports and to orally communicate technical information to others
Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor
Knowledge of the principals, practices and procedures of land surveying, and standard of care
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and legislation and ensures compliance with regulations and industry standards
Confident, enthusiastic team player with a passion to work in a demanding and fast paced environment
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, stay focused, set clear milestones and execute diverse projects simultaneously
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
Able to perform in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision making
Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe, AutoCAD (preferably Civil 3D)
Essential Position Requirements:
Occasional regional travel required
Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard hours, as required
