The Productivity Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading our transition from a complex monolithic system to a modern, distributed system architecture. This position is focused on improving developer productivity and building a robust DevSecOps framework, while aligning with broader IT initiatives. As the key driver of this transition, the Productivity Engineer will be responsible for creating consistent and flexible standards, facilitating collaboration between development and operations teams, and ensuring the security of our systems throughout the migration and beyond.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: 

•    DevSecOps Implementation: Developing and implementing DevSecOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and security integration, to ensure the secure and efficient delivery of software. 
•    Automation: Designing and implementing automation tools and scripts to streamline the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications and infrastructure. 
•    Standards Development: Defining and enforcing coding, security, and infrastructure standards, ensuring they are consistent and flexible to adapt to evolving needs.
•    Monitoring and Incident Response: Implementing monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address issues. Developing incident response procedures to maintain system availability and security.    

•    Security Compliance: Working with the security team to ensure that the migration aligns with security best practices and Compliances, such as HIPAA, GDPR, or industry-specific standards.
•    Documentation: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of systems, procedures, and best practices. Providing training and guidance to development and operations teams.
•    Continuous Improvement: Staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to DevSecOps and distributed system architecture. Continuously improving processes and technologies to enhance

     developer productivity. 
•    Migration Strategy: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and execute a comprehensive migration strategy from a monolith system to a distributed architecture. Identifying and mitigating potential risks and

     challenges during the migration. 
•    Other duties as assigned.

 

 

YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES IF YOU HAVE:

•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.  
•    Proven experience (7+ years) in software development, DevSecOps, and cloud architecture, with a focus on migration projects
•    Proficiency in DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).
•    Strong knowledge of security practices, compliance standards, and experience in securing distributed systems.
•    Scripting and programming skills (e.g., C#, JavaScript, Powershell, etc).
•     Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
•    Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
•    Relevant certifications, such as Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), are a plus.
•     Experience with monitoring & logging tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Splunk)
•    Excellent problem-solving & analytical skills to identify automation opportunities.
•     Effective communication & collaboration skills to cross-functional communicate automation strategies.
 
 

IN OFFICE REQUIREMENT:

Relias values collaboration and wants to ensure that our team members have opportunities to work with their teams regularly for professional development opportunities.  Our flexible hybrid work environment requires that you live in the state of North Carolina, within a commutable distance to our office (~1-hour commute).  You would be expected to work in our Morrisville, NC Headquarters some portion of approximately 30 days/quarter.
