Production Worker Lead (Night Shift)

Overview

This individual will be responsible for managing the labor processes within departments to ensure production goals are met on a daily basis. The Lead implements work instructions, cross-trains employees, and ensures components meet quality standards.

Essential Functions

• Partner with the Production Supervisor on employee scheduling, labor efficiency, work instructions, and throughput.
• Collaborate with other area leads and supervisors to facilitate cross-training opportunities; develop employee knowledge in multiple skill sets.
• Implement work instructions to ensure employee knowledge and accuracy is up-to-date.
• Ensure quality standards are followed.
• Collaborate with purchasing, production scheduler, and shipping to monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels for all parts.
• Effectively communicate maintenance issues and repair and replace consumables as needed.
• Serve as a positive leader and mentor by exhibiting and instructing desirable behaviors and skill sets.
• Inspire, motivate, and lead others to utilize lean manufacturing tools to deliver positive results.
• Utilize 6S standards to organize materials at work station and department.
• Perform other related or non-related duties as assigned through on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of two years in manufacturing and production with some leadership responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting of 50 pounds or less, occasional lifting of 51 pounds or more.
• Standing and walking throughout the duration of the shift is required.
• Repetitive use of hands and fingers; able to reach with hands and arms; and use of vision.
