ATI is currently seeking a Production Worker for our Atomizer department in the Oakdale, PA facility. In this position, you will be part of a team that is a vital element in manufacturing alloys that add strength and durability through atomization. This process produces an excellent surface finish on the final product and can also have secondary finishes applied after sintering to add more resistance to wear or corrosion and to improve the part’s strength.
As a Production Worker, you will prepare, maintain, and operate the atomizing unit. This includes preparation of the melt chamber and equipment, charging furnace, monitoring heat chemistries, preparation of liquid pour for atomizing, and operation of the atomizer.
This position requires a solid mechanical aptitude, as you will encounter precision measurements and utilize hand and power tools. Qualified candidates should show attention to detail, great communication, and teamwork.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain all equipment
- Weigh out raw materials and oversize powder to meet required product chemistry
- Prepare heats efficiently and accurately to promote continuous atomization
- Perform set up and patch procedures for tundish, liner, nozzle, and filters and assemble tundish heater
- Thoroughly clean, assemble, inspect, and install all equipment required for melt preparation
- Verify all equipment and materials are ready for atomization including documentation review
- Perform removal and installation of the furnace into the melt chamber including digging out, grouting, and installing blanket and ground fault
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- General HS Diploma / GED
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years VIM or powder melt experience preferred
- 5 years of manufacturing experience preferred
Skills
- Ability to read, understand, and work to melt procedures and specifications
- Read and use gauges and controls
- Maintain required records and heat reports in a legible manner
- Capable of operating industrial controls and mobile equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Pass the Respirator Protection screening
