Job Summary:
The Production Utility Operator will be responsible for the preparation and handling of chemicals for a 30-vessel chemical plant. All Colonial Chemical employees are thoroughly trained in safety and process procedures and are required to adhere to demanding standards for safe operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Forklift operation.
- Drumming out material.
- Basic equipment maintenance.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
- Ability to interpret and translate standard operating procedures.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Proficient in general computer knowledge.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to adapt to and work in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Candidates must be available to work on 24/7 rotating swing shifts.
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.50 - $29.50 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
