Production Tech III Job Description Summary:
Operation of machinery on multiple packaging /process lines.
-Operation of various cold blend mixing processes and performing equipment set-up/changeover as needed.
-Load and unload supplies and prepare finished product for shipment. Responsible for housekeeping in respective work areas.
-Inventory all packaging needs to maintain work flow process.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Proficient at running all equipment associated with the employee’s process area.
- Developing the ability to lead and direct Contract Packers on packaging lines. –
Basic knowledge of products associated with the employer’s process and how they are affected by process & raw material differences.
- Can recognize basic product /process problems. Should be doing basic troubleshooting when possible and seeking help when needed.
- Proficient at all basic job tasks and knowledge requirements, labeling, inventory, safety responsibilities and other basic workflows.
- Understands basic site policies, use of SOP’s and runsheets, chain of command, ISO, Safety, etc.
- Assist in the development of the assembler packer role. - Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge /Skills /Abilities:
- Solid math skills and proficient in computer programs with the ability to learn new systems as necessary. - Good interpersonal skills
– Needs to be able to work well within a team and have good personal communication skill (verbal and written). - Self-motivated and flexible
– Ability to work independently and prioritize work activities, as well as being able to switch to other tasks at short notice when required. - Good trouble shooting skills
– Ability to work on multiple lines, without compromising safety, responsible care, and regulatory requirements. Ability to operate a forklift preferred.
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently. –
-Proven record of safety and hazard awareness.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years of age Computer Literate 2 or more years relevant manufacturing experience preferred.

The individual in this environment often works at a fast pace with minimum to moderate supervision. The requirements of the business may cause frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Must be able to:
- Communicate effectively across a diverse work group.
- Follow procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
- Maintain regular attendance and be able to work a rotating shift and overtime as required.
- Perceive, identify, and respond to alarms.
- Lift up to 30lbs. - Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Steel toed shoes required.
- Must pass background check, pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must attend and pass a 1-day off-site safety training session.
