The night shift Kaiser Aluminum Production Supervisor (Value Stream Leader) in the extrusion department directs all shift production employees and ensures Safety, Quality and Production targets and standards for the shift are met. This position has a desirable, set shift, half of the week schedule, with twelve (12) hour days 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM , three (3) and four (4) working days every other week. One week you will work Thursday-Saturday (36 hours) and the next week you will work Wednesday-Saturday (48 hours). You will be off three (3) or four (4) days every week!

What you will work on:
- Responsible for leading and achieving departmental and plant goals for safety, quality and productivity.
- Achieve the business goals of the operation including cost, quality safety, and delivery.
- Coach, develop, and support hourly associates.
- Drive Kaiser Select best in class strategies to the floor level.
- Ensure that safety and environmental standards are met at all times.
- Train technicians and leaders on extrusion department operation processes.
- Monitor, report, and implement effective countermeasures to prevent Quality Defects that do not meet customer specifications.
- Maintain employee time reporting records, Jobscope (production reporting system) and other functions as required.
- Utilize KPS tools for problem prevention and solving.
- Make job assignments.
- Addresses disciplinary matters as required.
- Work closely with Kaiser Production System Team Leaders to solve problems, implement improvement plans and drive safety, production and quality improvements.
- Responsible for employee safety, process control compliance and housekeeping in their respective area of responsibility, as well as meeting the quality and production targets. Follows the schedules and instructions given to them by their manager.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the assigned work area, processes and equipment. Requests additional training for himself and his subordinates when required.
Requirements
- An Associate's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Management, or equivalent relevant experience is preferred
- Manufacturing Production Supervisory experience of 3 years or more is required
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO, TS) is preferred
- Solid background of various manufacturing processes
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Must be self-motivated, results and action oriented
- Ability to make independent and sound decisions
- Possess good interpersonal skills
