Job Description
Schedules and coordinates flow of work within or between departments of manufacturing plant to expedite production to meet daily production goals. Train, assign, and direct the work of associates to meet daily production goals. Position functions include, but are not limited to, those set forth below.
Essential Functions
- Directs the work of Production Associates; includes training, performance management, PTO and No Pay/No Penalty approval and tracking. Approval of time worked.
- Reviews master production schedule and work orders; assigns work and recommends changes to meet production goals.
- Train new associates; monitor progress; makes appropriate performance recommendations.
- Coordinates a training plan to train associates in new positions to increase flexibility and safety.
- Conducts pre-shift meetings to inform associates of the day’s requirements and discuss pertinent topics.
- Monitors the shop floor continuously to provide a clean and safe workplace for our associates.
- Paperwork administration; includes production reports and various documents.
- Analyzes information related to machine performance and takes the appropriate course of action; makes routine adjustments or works with the maintenance department to ensure timely repair.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum equipment utilization.
- Addresses associate concerns and takes or recommends appropriate action.
- Provides regular progress updates to Management Team and Senior Managers as appropriate.
- Compiles reports concerning operations and downtime due to equipment failure or associate issues.
- Keeps associates informed of production planning and progress.
- Responds appropriately to production delays or downtime.
- Reports and responds appropriately safety related concerns.
- Maintains awareness of inventory levels and requirements; maintains adequate supplies.
- Coordinates Cost-down activities.
- Other tasks as required by Management
- Must be reliable in attendance and work successfully in a team environment.
- Directs the work of production associates; includes new hire training, cross training, performance management, PTO and No Pay/No Penalty approval. Approval of time worked, schedule work hours in Kronos.
- Monitors the shop floor to ensure 5S and YBQ practices are being followed.
Competencies
Must be able to analyze manufacturing processes and make informed decisions. Requires excellent communication and training skills. Must have a basic understanding of energy conservation and proper waste disposal and recycling.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Position supervises Associates in the Production department. Suggests or recommends actions which affect the employment of Associates; includes interviewing, hiring, promoting, and termination activities.

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s Degree (AA) from a two-year college or technical school preferred; a minimum of three years’ experience managing in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to talk or hear at moderate to loud noise levels. The associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. May climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to troubleshoot or install equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The performance of this position requires frequent exposure to the manufacturing areas that may require the use of personal protective equipment such as ear, eye, head and foot. Primary environment: cold or warm temperatures according to outside weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
