Job Summary:
To weld all types of gauges of material.
Job Responsibilities:
Sets up and operates various spot or seam welding equipment to weld all types and gauges of material, with or without fixtures.
o Sets machine to prescribed certification settings.
o Selects and installs proper arms, holders, tips, or wheels.
o Plans sequence of welding operations.
o Establishes edge margins and weld locations as specified.
o Assembles parts of welding.
o Runs test samples.
Adjusts pressure and power stroke, welding currents and timing cycle as required.
Cleans tips or wheels as required.
Works in accordance with safety rules and general safety practices.
Keeps immediate work area clean and orderly.
Responsible only for own work.
Performs other related duties.
Education:
Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Uses decimals and fractions, blueprints, diagrams, scale, calipers, and micrometer.
Experience:
Twelve to eighteen months spot or seam welding experience.
Working Conditions:
Typical machine shop working condition.
