Job Description
Supervises 10-18 manufacturing operators and support team members.Ensures the proper functioning of the production line in terms of quality and quantity.
- Continuously organizes and optimizes production in terms of Quality, Costs and Deadlines; to this end, participates in all Lean Manufacturing, Kanban initiatives to increase productivity and decrease scrap
- Manages activity charts and monitors the performance of the production lines,
- Assigns Operators based on their skills and versatility according to the production schedule while adhering to customer requirements
- Manages the employees reporting to him or her (training needs assessment, evaluations, recruitment, absence management, etc.)
- Ensures Product is made to defined quality standards; Organizes daily production line QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) meetings to respond to the needs identified and encourage continuous improvement of the team,
- Participates in quality events by implementing the necessary verification measures and introducing the appropriate problem-solving method (8D),
- Ensures verification during the manufacturing process according to the monitoring plan,
- Ensures the application of the identification and traceability measures during manufacturing,
- Handles machine breakdowns by ensuring interventions by technicians as quickly as possible (technicians assigned to the line or maintenance technicians) and reassigning the personnel or if necessary,
- Makes sure that all breakdowns are tracked on the appropriate documents/systems,
- Guarantees the application of workstation cleanliness and 5S Standards & Environmental rules
SKILLS PROFILE
Qualifications and Experience:
High school diploma combined with 3 to 5 years of supervisory / managerial experience to include responsibility for hiring, training/coaching, safety, & performance management and appraisals of 10-18 subordinate employees in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Bi-lingual Spanish speaking a plus.

Ability to supervise, strong interpersonal and communication skills, spirit of leadership, ability to suggest new ideas;
Able to take initiative and handle unexpected situations, analytical and able to summarize data;
Able to mobilize the appropriate human resources based on production schedules and employee skills levels
Technical Knowledge:
Mechanical Aptitude, Familiarity with Manufacturing / Assembly Equipment
Process capability, SPC, & computer tools such as Excel and SAP are a plus
Prior Forklift License, LOTO Familiarity and First Aid Certification are a plus
Internally, deals with Shift Supervisors and the Technical Group, Maintenance, Quality and Tooling services
Authorized to block production in cases where the Quality department, Shift Supervisors and Autonomous Production Unit Manager are absents.
Must hold an electrical certificate, and, depending on the organizations, a forklift and/or overhead crane driver license
Is authorized to collect and process the personal data necessary for the execution of its mission
General Requirements (applies to all) :
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a occasional daily basis, warm environment
- Ability to use hands/arms for repetitive button pushing for majority of shift.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. on a constant/daily basis, including overhead pushing and pulling, as well as ability to work in a hot environment. There will be the requirement to lift/push/pull over 50lbs (including overhead).
- Ability to use hands/arms for repetitive gripping, pushing and pulling for majority of shift as well as potential ability to work over the shoulder for a portion of the shift, if necessary.
- Ability to read and understand Work Instructions and Procedures related to the area and accurately perform the job trained for.
- Ability to work overtime as needed/required. In order to be fair to all of those working in this department, ability to work weekend schedules including Sundays, is required.

- Must pass an interview with our hiring team, as well as the supervisor of the shift in which they will be assigned.

3rd Shift: 10:30 p.m.-7:30 a.m., with the possibility of overtime
