Production Machinist -- 1St Shift

Job listing for an experienced machinist/grinder for the Elk Grove Village plant.

ï‚· Carrying out milling, cutting, turning, grinding, and polishing to make sure all work is within the exact tolerances. Utilizing a horizontal saw and sharpening tools as required. Expertly interpreting detailed blueprints/drawings.

ï‚· Operating the following tools and equipment appropriately and securely: Fork trucks, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, manual lathes, welder, manual grinders, magna-flux, polishing tools, manual/air/power hand tools.

ï‚· Preparing parts, cleaning up, and polishing before and after machining/polishing process.

ï‚· Balancing, sandblasting and welding as assigned.

ï‚· Ensuring timely transfer of part(s) to next step in process.

ï‚· Responsible for equipment set up and to calibrate inspection equipment.

ï‚· Understanding of plating and quality control.

 Ability to read blueprints/drawings and use accurate measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc…).

ï‚· Reporting equipment maintenance issues to supervisors immediately.

ï‚· Executing minor planned and unplanned maintenance/repairs on tools and equipment/machinery.

ï‚· Knowledge of plant equipment.

ï‚· Autonomous work, making decisions and sound judgement calls in the best interest of HHC and our customers.

ï‚· Making use of proper measurement techniques and equipment in carrying out job duties.

ï‚· Adhering to all EHS rules, company policies and proper inspection procedures.

You should be proficient in:

• Machine Setups for Production Runs
• Blueprint Reading
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Shop Math Skills
