Job Overview:
VPET is looking for a Production Supervisor to oversee the workflow at our facility on the 3rd shift. The candidate will be responsible for coaching, resolving opportunities, and serving as a liaison between direct reports and management. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual who can guide and train employees, and understand processes that are under the responsibilities of the role of this position. Most of all we are looking for a genuine and ambitious candidate to fill this role with a dynamic and growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the quality and product that is produced within the shift following the company’s quality systems, processes, and procedures.
- Supervise, develop, and motivate direct reporting employees.
- Ensure clear communication is given verbally and/or written to all members of staff.
- Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift, and all related matters are managed while using company resources in line with the Health and Safety policies.
- Identify root causes and take effective action to resolve opportunities that arise by using problem-solving skills.
- Work closely with other Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective while using effective communication tools.
- Maintain an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company.
- Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
- Make appropriate decisions while following the company's organizational structure.
- Ensure that the training skills are met for the current and future demands of the shift.
Minimum Requirements:
- Communication: The role requires a candidate who can speak speak English and Spanish fluently
- Ideal Candidate: This is a role for someone who is self-driven, results-oriented, and above all, who has a positive “CAN DO” outlook. VPET is looking for an organized, proactive, logical thinker.
- Schedule: First shift, but must be able to work extended hours on occasions, based on needs of the business.
- Specific Job Skills: Candidate must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and written, and motivate employees to meet objectives.
- Work Experience: Minimum 2 years working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment as a Shift Supervisor, or within an equivalent capacity; preferred experience in a plastics industry.
