In this pivotal role, you will spearhead an all-new team in the production of health and beauty products with potential future expansion into other brands and products, streamlining processes, optimizing efficiency, and resolving any production challenges that arise. What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure the facility remains in compliance with applicable fire, safety and building codes at all times and coordinate all inspections with respective regulatory agencies.
  • Direct day-to-day maintenance and administrative services within all skilled trades and project-related activities.
  • Develop policies and procedures to maximize efficient utilization and scheduling of labor coordinated with production activities, and special projects.
  • Conduct daily/weekly management review meetings with key leadership staff. Conduct monthly meetings with the general staff.
  • Develop and maintain inventory controls to ensure the department is ordering proper supplies for maintenance and project requirements in a timely manner. Research and recommend equipment, tools, materials and supplies to fulfill needs of efficient production.
  • Strategically lead the interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating and forecasting performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems to completion in a timely manner.
  • Assist with budgetary planning and fiscal control. Quarterly and annual budget forecasting will include: labor, materials, supplies, and equipment and recommend policies and procedures to promote efficiency.
  • Lead plant in continuous improvement initiatives, such as 5S with safety, 6 Sigma, Kaizen events, and lean manufacturing
  • Support quality initiatives to ensure product meets or exceeds customer expectations. Ensure employees complete required quality checks and audits.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to effectively solve problems systematically from initial identification, through analysis and diagnosis, to presentation of options for resolution.
  • Ability to manage budgets and drive profitability.
  • Ability to inspire confidence, lead by example, and gain credibility with senior management and day-to-day team members.
  • Proficient technical skills and a history of leveraging technology to solve systems-level challenges.
  • Assess, weigh, and manage risk in the face of uncertainty.
  • Research and interpret relevant information from a range of sources.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a production supervisory capacity.
  • Working knowledge/experience in manufacturing processes, supply chain management, safety, OSHA, EPA, quality and lean manufacturing.

Compensation:

  • $53,000 - $62,000 budgeted compensation range, depending on experience
  • Profit sharing-based bonus program
  • 10 days paid vacation + 10 paid company days off + 8 paid holidays

Location: Up to 1-2 months to train in Portland, Oregon (expenses paid); then, our Production Facility near Logan, UT.
