SUMMARY:  The Bottling Line Lead is responsible for ensuring that all operations functions are performed to achieve the highest efficiency, lowest cost-effective manner consistent with established operations procedures and requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bottling Line Lead level: The Line Lead must possess the following requirements: Team member can perform the following duties and meet all the skill requirements of the beginner operator, intermediate and advanced operator: General labor as the utility operator, unloader operator, the case packer, and the filler area. The team must have successfully read and understood the training manual, trained at a minimum of 40 hours operating in these areas, and successfully pass the written exam and test for knowledge at the Advanced level, Intermediate, and Beginner levels. Must be able to communicate to maintenance and leadership staff effectively as it pertains to downtime events and demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills. Must be able to support the changeover process and completely understand the wine change and blow-in processes at Innotech. As the line lead, this team member will play a major role in the training and development of new team members and support the HPWT initiative, 5S, and Lean concepts in the Bottling Room.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn to utilize TSM for the following:
  •      Create Bottling Specification Sheets for Bottling and Can Lines
  •      Close Work Orders for Bottling and Can Lines
  • Verify / Maintain accurate Production and Inventory counts as produced off of the line
  • Understand OEE metrics as they pertain to Bottling Production, including calculating OEE
  • Ensure required materials and supplies are readily available prior to production runs, such as Associated Dry goods and production paperwork.
  • Provide leadership and support all open C.I. projects by incorporating Lean tools and methodologies such as 5S, Time Studies, Visual Management, Load Leveling, etc.
  • Assess processes to determine how to reduce rework, improve quality, improve efficiency, and improve the ability to deliver the desired production needs of our customers.
  • Challenge current working practices by identifying process improvement opportunities and facilitating goal setting using customer feedback, analysis, and other systems.
  • Execute Process Improvement solutions using data analysis to help justify and quantify improvement plans.
  • Help facilitate a weekly reporting program to include 5S Audits and Downtime data along with any other Key Performance Indicators.
  • Record and maintain the Continuous Improvement Board to foster open communication.
  • Work on quality, yield, and performance metrics by collecting/evaluating data and providing reports to bottling leadership on risks or opportunities.
  • Approximately 50% of the time will be dedicated to supervisory activities.
  • Supervise Continuous Improvement Interns

 

Expectations:

  • Motivate through honest and clear communication.
  • Support, assist, and respond to front-line operators in a professional manner.
  • Understand, comply, and reinforce all business compliances (BRC, HACCP, and GMP)
  • Support LEAN initiatives from the Continuous Improvement department as they relate to the bottling operation.
  • Understanding of BRC, ISO, and HACCP as they pertain to Bottling
  • Ability to adhere to companies' 4 core standards: Trust, Ingenuity, Forward Thinking, and Always Deliver.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or 3-5 years experience
  • Experience in bottling/food manufacturing is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Stand for prolonged periods
  • Perform some repetitive motion activities
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Lift, move, and stack boxes up to 30 lbs


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is normally performed in a production environment
