PIWC is actively looking for an energetic and highly motivated individual to assist in the winemaking activities as well as help with promotional and sales events. Under the supervision of the Assistant Winemaker, this position will perform all duties related to wine production including but not limited to cleaning, operating equipment, maintaining inventory, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the execution of written and verbal work orders.
Detail of Primary Duties:
- Perform cellar activities according to written SOPs.
- Cleans or sterilizes tanks, barrels, and other cellar operations equipment, and production areas, using hoses, brushes, scrapers, chemical solutions, or other means as directed.
- Collects samples for laboratory analysis and measures or weighs materials to be added, mixed, transferred, stored, or otherwise processed.
- Setups or adjusts equipment including press pad machinery, pumps, filters, and packaging equipment.
- Handle and process fruits according to press pad plan; record and maintain records of fruit receipt including assessment of fruit condition and accurate measurement of gallons produced.
- Setup and execute transfers of juice and wine between containers using pumps and hoses while maintaining sanitary conditions.
- Preparation of bulk juice and wine for delivery and shipping.
- Assists with bottling, labeling, and packaging of finished products.
- Monitor inventory of bulk juice and wine, case goods, packaging materials, additives, and chemicals by conducting cycle counting and following proper stock rotation and organization.
- Move case goods, drums and totes with a forklift and pallet jack.
- Inspects and reports on machines, equipment, tanks and containers for hazards, operating efficiency, malfunctions, excessive wear, or leaks.
- Assist with special events and harvest duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Craft beverage or food production knowledge and/or experience helpful
- Forklift certification preferred
- Basic math skills for measuring and counting
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook
Skills:
- Understands and maintains a safe working environment.
- Must be able to climb stairs to measure tanks, set up sanitation attachments, connect hoses to transfer lines, pressure wash, operate hose for pump overs, for up to 8 hours or longer during harvest.
- Must be able to carry up to 55 lbs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral communication skills to interact with co-workers in a professional and helpful manner.
- Ability to work productively in a fast paced, stressful environment.
- Must be able to work any shift and overtime as needed, particularly during harvest season.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
