PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This is a fluid position, meaning you'll work in different departments throughout your shift each day (shipping, assembly, production, etc.).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shipping Department: some of your tasks would include packaging products into boxes and labeling.
- Assembly Department: gluing acrylic products together; assembling keychains, ornaments, and magnets; assembling special edition box sets and other paper product sets.
- Production Department: printing, cutting, and foiling products such as books, dust jackets, page overlays, and art prints.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
EXPERIENCE:
6 months+ with general job experience.
TEAMWORK SKILLS:
Must be able to communicate and work with supervisors, managers, and other team members in a professional, respectful, and effective manner.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Regularly required to stand, use hand and arms, walk, hear, and talk. Will be expected to work at an efficient, fast pace. Will be expected to listen and execute tasks given by management and to complete production goals set by the company.
Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner that will allow you to work with your team and management effectively.
Will need to work on-site in our East Lansing, MI facility. Will be expected to arrive to work on time and to stay for the duration of the scheduled shift.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The job is in a production-based setting with some noise, dust, and temperature and humidity changes. You might stand for a while. It's either full-time or part-time. Our standard hours are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (weekends and specific holidays off) – however, depending on need, we may ask employees to be available to work any of the following shifts (Monday-Friday): 7am-3pm or 9am-5pm.
PAY/BENEFITS:
New hires will be expected to complete a 90-day trial period during which both parties will evaluate if continuing employment is suitable for both parties. During the trial period, new hires will receive $15/hr.
Benefits can be offered to those working in a full-time position. Benefits include health insurance, long-term disability, life insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and SEP IRA retirement plan.
Flexible availability, weekends off, and specific holidays off.
My dad's entrepreneurial venture began in 2008, operating from the basement of our family home. Back then, our focus was on creating customized products for customers across the nation. My dad demonstrated remarkable dedication by waking up at 4am each morning to meticulously handcraft every item. Although my siblings and I would occasionally assisted him, an amusing incident involving my little brother taping an empty package led to the decision that we should prioritize our education rather than becoming little entrepreneurs ourselves. I can still remember the smell of acrylic piercing the morning air when my siblings and I would head out to catch the school bus. Oh yes, our neighbors certainly knew how hard working our dad was, too!
Thanks to Dad's incredible work ethic and perseverance, his hobby manifested into a full fledged business serving customers across the country. I joined the team after settling into my freshman year of college and it has been an absolutely amazing experience to learn and work alongside such an incredible man.
As we worked through the various obstacles of growing a start-up business, my family was also tackling challenges at home. My grandpa, Dad’s father, developed Alzheimer’s and the disease rapidly took root within him. What we noticed, though, was that Grandpa would always keep a picture of my late grandma close by him. It comforted him greatly; he’d sometimes even talk with her, remembering and laughing about the memories they created together throughout their lives. It was then we truly understood the incredible power pictures hold within them.
Our company took on a whole new level of importance for us. My dad and I started really focusing on what we wanted this company to be and how we wanted to connect with our customers. Soon after, we updated our mission statement: We recognize every picture tells a story and holds powerful memories. To honor this, we want to engage with customers to create lasting, beautiful pieces with them so they can treasure their memories forever.

After graduating in 2019 with my Bachelor's Degree in English Lit, I dove headfirst into my job. Around that time, I stumbled upon A Court of Thorns and Roses. Little did I know, it would completely change our lives! I couldn't get enough of the series, falling in love with the world and its vibrant characters. It became a bit of an obsession, and I started making acrylic bookshelf decorations inspired by the series. When I shared them on BookTok, I was amazed to see others interested in these pieces too!
After reaching out to SJM's team about licensing, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a prompt response. Shortly after that initial email, we successfully obtained a license from SJM, making us an official merchant. As a result, I spearheaded the creation of a new division within our company: AcryliPics.com. Since then, we've worked with incredible authors, publishers, distributors, and artists within this amazing industry. We've connected with hundreds of thousands of the most fantastic people within the most passionate and exciting communities ever! We're living our dream thanks to all of your incredible support. It's been an exciting journey, and I can't wait to see the fantastic opportunities that lie ahead!
