We are looking for a full time Product/Catalog Manager-Aftermarket who will be a key part of the Aftermarket team for a technically complex product of services.
This position provides deep product expertise needed to lead the aftermarket activity and make strategic product decisions. A professional to drive new product development and market releases while managing existing product lines in the automotive aftermarket industry. Conducts and stays up to date with market and competitive conditions, laying out a product vision that is differentiated and delivers unique value based on market and customer demands. The role spans across many activities from strategic to tactical thinking and execution and provides important cross-functional leadership — most notably between Engineering, Sales, and Support Teams. You will be responsible for the creation, management, and optimization of the aftermarket catalog, specifically focusing on ACES and PIES data.
What You Will Do:
- Assess set product lines of responsibility, create annual plan, and prioritize developments in a combination of customer needs, coverage gaps and competitive advantage.
- Develop, maintain, and publish our catalog of product information, ensuring accuracy and completeness of ACES and PIES data.
- Annually presents plan for new product lines and creates and owns the 5-year product roadmap.
- Identify what samples to procure for development, including part number and brand.
- Work with the factory engineers to define product features and development needs of individual items.
- Prepare all new products for market release by completing all key elements necessary to establish a successful launch. The ideal process is to be done once, correct, and complete, by meeting all requirements and releasing the product to all channels at the same time.
- Identify, interchange, and maintain records on key competitors’ new items to better understand product positioning and interchangeability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to gather necessary product attributes and fitment data for catalog creation.
- Maintain all data in internal systems and files as part of KPI and annual goal tracking. Able to communicate progress on an ongoing basis and report monthly.
- Actively manage the life cycle of new and existing products and work with internal and external customers to ensure alignment.
- Review labor claims test results and decide on how the claim will be resolved and communicated to customers.
- Discover and create competitive advantages where possible during new item development process.
- Establish parity between competitor and Vernet parts where differences in features or content exist.
- Continuously monitor and analyze catalog performance metrics, such as coverage, completeness, and accuracy, and provide recommendations for enhancements.
- Provide product information as needed by our sales team for presentations, customer meetings, etc.
- Special projects to support new business and assisting other areas when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years in automotive aftermarket product development
- Three to five years of related experience in ACES and PIES catalog management within the automotive aftermarket industry preferred.
- High-level organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask when required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve catalog related issues.
- Creative thinker, attuned to problem solving, solid presenter, and capable educator as needed.
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
