The CRO Data Governance team’s mission is to establish mechanisms to ensure the Right Data is available, in the Right Place, at the Right Time, to the Right People, in a secure and compliant way. To achieve this mission, the CRO Data Governance team collaborates with other functions across Bloomberg, including Legal and Compliance, Engineering, Data, Products, CISO, and CTO in designing and implementing a data management framework, control processes and tools, and supporting training and awareness.
In our continued effort to unlock the potential of our data at scale, we are seeking a Data Catalog Product Owner. With focus on capturing high quality metadata, this role will be critical in supporting our business users, engineers, and analysts as they seek to find and explore our data assets to meet the needs of our customers and business.
We’ll trust you to:
- Define requirements and drive the implementation and adoption of a Data Catalog
- Engage with Engineering to prioritize remediation of identified gaps and new feature enhancements to satisfy business requirements and regulatory expectations
- Monitor adoption, metrics, and usage of the Data Catalog
- Evangelize metadata data curation and quality
- Develop and deliver Data Catalog training to Data Owners, Data Consumers, and other stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and control automation to ensure the ongoing confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data
You’ll need to have:
- 5-7 years’ experience in risk management, with at least 3 years in Data Management
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related discipline
- Hands-on experience with Data Catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Open Metadata)
- Strong understanding of metadata management, Data Catalog, data lineage, data profiling
- Basic SQL scripting, relational database, no-SQL database, and data modeling
- Experience with public cloud and software-as-a-service APIs
- Experience with working in agile development environment
- Diversified experience of technology, operations, privacy, regulatory compliance, and risk management
- Knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and trading lifecycle
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment
