This position will be required to be in the office in Plymouth, MA 2 to 3 days a week.
The Product Development Manager will lead the design, quality, construction, fit and functionality for the of all private label product across multiple product categories. This role will develop consumer relevant products that delivers against strategic, financial and brand objectives through collaboration with a team of Buyers, aiding in merchandising's growth of private label.
Essential Job Functions:
- Partner with buyers to create brand right products on a broad range of categories including, but not limited to, riding apparel, Footwear and Accessories, horse blankets, and tack equipment
- Lead the development process from concept through finalization while adhering to the time and action calendar to ensure on time delivery
- Initiate each season by researching and presenting color and trends, and establishing seasonal color palettes
- Create visual color-ups and develop prints to aid buyers in assortment planning
- Provide clear direction to factories and vendors on all product specifications including raw material, color, fit, labels, and logos
- Communicate and negotiate with manufacturer partners to cost engineer products which meet and exceed IMU mark-up goals
- Manage fit process and conduct fittings
- Manage and record all data on style details and approvals for fabric, hardware, trim, color,
- special washes, and print
- International travel to meet with vendors in Asia
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years' experience in Product Development or technical design
- Sophisticated communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent Excel and Adobe Illustrator skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated problem solver and resourceful multi-tasker
- Attention to detail
- Horse experience a plus
