Position: Product Development Engineering Technician
How You Will Make an Impact:
- The Product Development Engineering Technician will be responsible for the administration and control of documents that are received, created, updated, or issued throughout the organization. Functional areas in scope include Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality departments. Integrating into the functional areas, this position will support new Product Development, and product manufacturing process creation and implementation. This position has responsibility for managing documents while ensuring their accuracy, quality, and integrity.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and update procedure for the formal control of documentation throughout the Engineering, Production and Quality organizations.
- Assist Functional Areas in the writing and updating of procedures, work instructions and forms/templates.
- Editing documents to ensure they are complete, free of grammatical mistakes and consistent with document control procedures prior to initiating the approval process.
- Coordination of the review and approval process (Verifying all required approvers have approved prior to release)
- Communication of the training requirements, as required, prior to the release of the documents.
- Ensuring the integrity of released hard and electronic copies. This includes the maintenance of all of the active and obsolete electronic files
- Train and assist organization in the requirements and proper use of the documentation control process.
- Ensure that all external documents are being properly controlled and current.
- Verify the Distribution and Access is controlled in a manner that is compliant and precludes misuse
- Manage Engineering materials to data packages to support in submittal to the FAA
- Supports acquisition and setup of materials and components used in development projects
- Supports and coordinates Engineering Product Development purchases and outside processing needs
- Creates and maintains lists files and databases to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Supports and manages Engineering R&D warehouse, library, project tracking and reporting
- Assist in engineering testing and data evaluation
Requirements and skills needed for the success at this position:
- Minimum of 3-years experience as a technical writer or Engineering Tech
- Very Strong PC Skills. Proficient in MS Office Applications
- Strong communication and organization skills both verbal and written
- High attention to detail
- Previous Documentation Control experience is preferred
- Knowledge of ISO/AS/FAA quality system guidelines is preferred
- The ability to understand general engineering documents is preferred
