Job description

Busch Vacuum Solutions is currently looking for exceptional college students to fill our 2024 Summer Internship Program at our facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

 

The Product Design Engineering Internwill assist in numerous functions, gaining experience in different aspects of product management.  With guidance from the Product Marketing Management team, this Internship would provide the opportunity for practical experience with drafting, collaboration, researching, and problem-solving. 

 

Tasks Include:

  • Understanding problem statement and conducting background research
  • Design product with cost and manufacturability in mind
  • Provide specifications for and acquire quotes for customer items from suppliers
  • Complete project packet to include drawings and BOMs to be ready for production

 

During the internship, program participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and will participate in events specifically designed for both professional and teambuilding skill development.

Required Experience

  • Currently enrolled rising Junior or Seniors actively pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree or currently enrolled Senior MBA candidates.
    • Freshman and Sophomore candidates are encouraged to apply
    • Engineering degree (BS or MS), preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook): Required
  • Experience in CAD, preferably in SolidWorks or NX

  • Work with a high level of initiative, be self-motivated, and possess professional maturity
  • Be detail, goal, and safety oriented
  • Must be organized and maintain a clean and orderly workspace
  • Must possess a positive attitude, be dependable, and trustworthy
  • Work independently or as a team, as necessary, to fulfill department and Busch goals and objectives
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English

 

Job Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE

 

Physical Requirements

  • Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
  • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
  • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

Work Environment

 

Moderately controlled manufacturing environment, moderate noise levels, fumes, and airborne particles, while working near moving mechanical parts.
