Product Configuration Specialist

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Product Configuration Specialist job based in Stamford, CT with one of our major clients in the Aerospace and Defense industry. In this role, you will provide document control and configuration management support to all department projects and systems. You will be responsible for all Configuration Management (CM) activities and will be leading all engineering and production efforts for ECO’s, Work Breakdown Structures, BOMs and Item Master library. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing new Product Configuration Management software.

Product Configuration Specialist Job responsibilities:

• Maintain ERP and Product Configuration database as required for item masters, product structures and bill of materials.
• Manage ECO process and collaborate with all responsible parties to ensure the proper execution of all required activities.
• Establish Configuration/Data Management policies and best practices.
• Create work breakdown structures.
• Implement and maintain new Product Configuration Management software.
• Train other employees on Configuration Management processes.
• Analyze proposed changes to product design to determine effect on overall product and system.
• Assist production with Cost Estimation tools and procedures.
• Work with engineers to ensure that project documentation is in accordance with quality and change management procedures and guidelines, to ensure project information is properly organized and archived.
• Coordinate the interaction between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Program Management to ensure appropriate changes are documented.
• Create training materials for employees inside and outside of the department.
• Assist with the completion of drawings red-lined by Project Managers and Engineers.

Qualifications:

• Four years Bachelor of science degree and five years of relative work experience, OR two years Associates degree and ten years of relative work experience
• Training in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault or similar software, and Enterprise Resource Planning Software.
