In this role, you'll be responsible for ... contributing to the company program that ensures compliance in the domains of chemical requirements and inventories (REACH-like, US TSCA ...), chemical hazard communication, and product compliance which require respect of specific regulations and standards applicable to Markem-Imaje products.
You'll have the opportunity to become ... regional guardian of implementation of Global Product Compliance Strategy into Americas working with cross-functional team: R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, to ensure compliance of Markem-Imaje products in all steps. You will provide subject matter expertise in the area of chemicals and products compliance into North and South American Region and strive to become recognized within business.
You should possess ... at least 5 years of successful experience acquired in a Chemicals Compliance role at American regional level within a complex international environment and industrial company.

Main Activities / Responsibilities:
- Lead regulatory monitoring activities related to chemical and product regulations in North and South American region; interpret and provide input on implementation and status as applicable for MI businesses (e.g. chemical control, regarding food/food contact compliance).
- Prepare a quarterly regulatory summary with content from law firm newsletters, regulatory newsletters, government updates or other subscriptions.
- Support creation and maintenance of regulatory information, statements, and documentation in compliance with international and country-specific legislation (e.g. product dossiers, registration certificates, direct/indirect food contact approval statements, risk assessments...)
- Prepare materials and author Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and related hazard labels content for Markem-Imaje products.
- Lead chemical registration and notification activities in accordance with national regulatory requirements in coordination with MI contacts, external consultants and certifying laboratories ex: TSCA LVE ...
- Answer inquiries from MI personnel (Sales, Supply Chain) regarding shipping regulations, correct product labeling, saleable product locations (via registration) and promote good compliance practice.
- Establishes, maintains, and revises procedures/ controls and appropriate document management system to ensure compliance.
- Trains corporate and operational personnel on processes in respect to chemical and product compliance regulatory topics including but not limited to: OSHA HAZCOM, Product Stewardship Awareness, Regulatory Awareness, and Environmental Regulations.
Experience & General Skills:
- Master's Degree in Chemistry (preferred), in a life science discipline, toxicology or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in a regulatory environment required.
- Excellent knowledge of chemical regulatory environment within North and South America regions..
- Knowledge of FDA regulations governing Food, Food Additives and Food Contact Materials, Medical Devices and cosmetics is required.
- Experience with UL Wercs Regulatory Compliance Software and other databases tools is highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with remote mode management, self-motivated and customer-oriented.
- Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks efficiently, accurately, and timely.
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive.
- Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time

Markem-Imaje - Watertown, MA, is an exciting expansion demonstrating our commitment to be the innovation leader in digital printing. This new, state-of-the-art, Global Design Center will be the hub for New Product Introduction of Laser- and DOD-based products. The office is situated close to Boston with easy access by car or public transportation.
