JOB SUMMARY:
The Procurement Specialist at Polyvinyl Films, Inc. provides a single point of contact for the establishment of company needs, sourcing, price negotiations, procurement, availability, and timely delivery within an assigned set of commodities, Materials, Parts, and/or suppliers, as well as the provision to the company of certain defined services, such as outsourced IT.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Manage the on-time delivery of material procurement and outside processing service to meet customer order demand.
· Establishes and maintains a forecasting system for our supplier partners.
· Placing purchase orders for all raw materials and supplies for the company.
· Negotiate at the time of order placement for any additional material discounts and/or terms.
· Publish supplier open orders reports and communicate any issues to production.
· Delivering a weekly purchase order report to supervisors that indicates the invoice numbers for all closed orders.
· Working with the management team to ensure all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing parts.
· Sourcing suppliers and maintaining supplier relationships.
· Performs audits on our supplier partners and assures their processes are qualified and in control.
· Conducting supplier visits, as necessary.
· Quoting of materials.
· Maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis.
· Effectively communicating with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate.
· Provide supplier evaluation communication on a consistent basis to ensure concerns, as well as positive performance, are communicated effectively and consistently.
· Work with production planners and other departments, to ensure material availability to maximize production capacity.
· Ensure all purchased material are in-house on time, and at acceptable quality levels. Generate action plans when criteria are not met.
· Utilizing buy reports as generated by the ERP system. Review to identify and action all buys, defer, expedite, or cancelation signals for the appropriate material portfolio.
· Focuses on strategic, long-term goals, such as gaining a competitive advantage or aligning the procurement function with corporate strategy or goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, or business
· 5 to 7 years’ experience in supply chain.
· In-depth Knowledge of manufacturing processes and statistical forecasting systems.
· Knowledge of ERP systems related to purchasing and procurement modules
· Training and experience in Kan Ban, JIT, Lean Manufacturing. And pull systems.
· Proven negotiation skills specific to achieving favorable prices and services.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
