Position Overview
Responsible for the tracking and expediting of shipments from supply base. Working closely with buyers team, freight companies and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of parts. It is a tactical role within the Procurement Organization for Flender Corporation, which involves cross-departmental work for solving matters related to tracking, expediting, deliveries, receiving, inventory and freight, among others. This position reports to Purchasing Manager.
Responsibilities
This position has the overall responsibility for the tracking and expediting tasks within the procurement process and supporting buyers team as needed. Some of these responsibilities include:
- Tracking of purchase orders and updating accordingly in SAP
- Follow-up on purchase orders with supply base for status
- Ensuring on-time delivery
- Supporting buyers team in various activities, some examples are: Resolving accounts payable and receiving discrepancies. Updating purchase orders: dates, prices, etc. Coordinating solution to quality related topics. Maintaining up-to-date all relevant fields within ERP system.
- Sharing and implementing best practices.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Customer Focus
- Good organizational and analytical skills
- Team player
- Able to work under pressure
- Able to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing situations
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Purchasing experience for direct materials in manufacturing environment
- Proficient in SAP, particularly MM module
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and other quality standards
- Negotiation skills
- Purchasing techniques
