We are currently seeking a Process/ProjectElectrical Engineering Intern to join our team of talented employees!
Role Description
The Electrical Engineering Intern role is an exciting position with a mix of being in the field and being in the office. You will work primarily with the Process Control Project Manager to build projects and improve site documentation. You will gain knowledge of all areas of a chemical plant from buildings to equipment, to piping to electrical.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Support and assist the Project Managers and Process Engineers with project work.
- Update or create Process Flow Diagrams, P&ID's, and General Arrangement drawings using AutoCAD.
- Create material balance and cycle time analysis.
- Create and update process block flow diagrams.
- Pressure relief sizing.
- Piping Isometric Drawings.
- Assemble fabrication and installation drawing packages for bid.
- Provide assistance with Instrumentation checkouts.
- Documentation of PSI (process safety information).
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Knowledge with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Effective written/verbal communication, presentation, and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
- Candidate must be an initiative-taker; highly detailed, and outcome focused.

Experience and Education:
- Must be currently enrolled in a degreed Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering program.
Desired Skills:
- Drafting - Knowledge of the practical application of drafting in AutoCAD and utilization of best practices in drafting.
- Design & Document Control - Experience in a piping design and engineering document management.
- Thoroughness - Complete each assignment as flawlessly as possible and utilizing checklist to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Critical thinking - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Oral communication - talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Written comprehension - the ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
