Position: Off-Shift Processing Technician I

Department: Production

Location: 527 Spring Road, Port Angeles, WA, 98362

Hours: Monday-Saturday 8:00 pm – 5:30 am

Pay: $21.00/hr. plus differential pay of $2/hr

Summary: The Processing Technician I is responsible for the processing of fresh and dehydrated mushrooms for nutritional supplements. These duties may include but are not limited to milling raw mushrooms, compounding, packaging, and monitoring production equipment. Assigned tasks must be performed in a safe and sanitary manner following all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), thereby contributing to an overall successful operation and growth of the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following, other duties that may be assigned:

• Milling of raw mushrooms into powder form
• Ability to hand-mix mushroom powders according to prescribed formulary
• Ensures high-quality mushroom production by completing processing tasks and assisting in quality checks.
• Ability to operate all equipment according to work instructions and training, detect issues, and troubleshoot.
• Promote a work environment that meets cGMP regulations by following all established procedures and completing all required cGMP training.
• Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety rules, maintaining strong safety awareness, and participating in required safety training and meetings.
• Fosters teamwork by collaborating with peers, and assisting as needed to meet all daily objectives.
• Follows established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Batch Processing Records (BPRs). Responsible for completing accurate documentation and data entry.

Education & Experience:

• At least 6 months of related experience in manufacturing preferred

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Ability to carry out detailed oral and/or written instructions and effectively communicate.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• Takes ownership and is proactive in learning and delivering excellence.
• Must pay close attention to detail.
• A pre-employment physical is required prior to employment
• Portions of this position are in a cGMP area, therefore masks, lab coats and hair/beard nets must be worn. No makeup, perfumes, acrylic or artificial nails, or jewelry are allowed in cGMP work areas.
• Participates in all team meetings, sharing ideas on continuous process improvement with the supervisor and team members.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, area, circumference, volume, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods & heavy lifting required, must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. This position is a VERY PHYSICAL POSITION due to the Processing Techniques. The work environment can be noisy requiring PPE; conditions may include exposure to extreme temperatures, occasional exposure to outdoor weather, and slippery surfaces. Offer of employment is contingent upon successful pre-employment requirements.

Language Skills: Ability to read and analyze technical procedures. Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts, and to understand communications from others. Ability to maintain composure, listen, and respond appropriately.
