Job Summary
The Process Technical Writer will be responsible for developing, organizing, and editing content for ITAC's internal processes. This role will require working closely with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness.
The Process Technical Writer is responsible for:
Write/work experience with:
- Prepare technical information in easy-to-understand language for non-technical audience
- Have technical accuracy in writing user documentation
- Create software documentation after thorough collaboration with subject matter experts and technical staff
- Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension
- Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure and form documentation
- Policies and/or procedures language
- General business procedures
- Familiarity with engineering or construction industry, is preferred
- Possess composition and editing abilities
Communications experience with:
- Ability to listen well and dictate information
- Gain credibility with others
- Maintain and manage review of each process
- Maintain and manage approvals of appropriate leaders of each business department
Teamwork experience:
- Meet with select members of each business department to acquire knowledge of each unit’s operations and procedures
- Work independently
- Provide improvement changes where applicable
- Help other writers in creating documentation
General skills and qualifications:
- Ability to pay attention to details
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Fluency in common office software
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communication, business administration or technical writing, preferred not required. OR
- 2-5 years of work experience as a writer, preferred not required.
- Must understand grammatical conventions and write in a clear and fluent manner.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Highly self-motivated.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy of technical information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other technical writing tools.
