Process Safety Engineer

The Process Safety Engineer is Responsible for supportingtechnical work in a wide range of EHS disciplines throughout design, commissioning,and operational phases of complex systems. He or She will serve as disciplinelead for the EHS Engineering team, interacting with many multi-disciplinaryteams (technology development, manufacturing engineering, factory design,facility engineering, etc.) and ensure regulatory compliance can be met in newequipment, processes, facilities, and design changes.

The Process Safety Engineer must work on company expansionprojects, self-initiated projects and those driven by concerns and issuesreported by employees and stakeholders. The ideal candidate takes pride inhis/her analytical abilities to apply principles of Process Safety in designand manufacturing, knowledge of regulations, organization skills, attention todetail and ability to solve problems quickly and creatively.

Work Schedule: Must be on site 40 hours a week, Monday throughFriday. Hours will typically be 8am-5pm but ability to accommodate scheduleadjustments will be periodically required. 

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical,Nuclear, Process Safety (or similar); or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience; Work experiencein chemical process, hydrometallurgy, battery, semi-conductor, orpharmaceutical industry is preferred
• Ability to communicate and collaborate across multiplelevels of the organization especially when action is needed to address a hazardor mitigate potential risk.
• Experience in facilitating various risk assessment andprocess hazard assessment methodologies such as: HAZIDs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, DHAs
• Working ability to read and understand Process andInstrument Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Mechanical, Electrical,and Architectural permit sets, CAD drawings
• Experience in meeting industry regulatory or otherwise bestpractice guidance such as NFPA 652, NFPA 654, ISA 84, IEC 61508, IEC 65111,CCPS Risk Based Process Safety, Functional Safety (ISO 13849)
• Ability to manage and organize multiple projects withcompeting priorities and different time lines
