The Process Improvement intern will support the Strategic Data and Impact (SD&I) Department by streamlining aspects of both operations and reporting through managing key components of meeting logistics and refining existing reporting processes to maximize operational effectiveness. An important aspect to this role will be close coordination with other URA Departments.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage key components of meeting logistics for multiple continuous quality improvement (CQI) meetings including scheduling and client management, preparation of pre- and post-meeting deliverables, and robust notetaking 
  • Coordinate with the Data and Evaluation Specialist to refine and streamline quarterly reporting process to maximize operational effectiveness 
  • Conduct information gathering to identify relevant datasets and their sources and create internal method for tracking this information
  • Devise a data cleaning method for datasets linked into PowerBI dashboard
  • Coordinate with Communication and Community Relations Department on revisions to visual components of PowerBI dashboard
  • Develop a user manual that includes defined processes and related operational workflows for both data source gathering and data cleaning 
  • Provide regular status updates to Manager of Strategic Data and Impact 
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • At least three years of coursework in Business Administration, Business Management, Accounting, Office Administration, Psychology, or related field 
  • Good notetaking skills 
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good communication skills 
  • Good critical thinking and analysis skills 
  • Some proficiency with data dashboards and Excel 
  • Ability to take direction and willingness to work across Departments and initiatives 
  • Able to collaborate across diverse experiences 
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple deliverables and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Accounting, Office Administration, Psychology, or related field 
  • Experience with Process Improvement techniques and change management
  • Advanced proficiency with data dashboards and Excel

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs., standing, sitting, reaching and stretching.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
