Position Summary:
The Process Engineering Technician is a part of the Process Engineering team. This position is responsible for developing manufacturing process, improving quality, and providing direct assistant for manufacturing and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a wide knowledge of machines including but not limited to: SMT, AOI, wave solder, ICT, conformal coating; learn programming and advance trouble shooting.
- Create reflow profile thermocouples, boards and develop reflow oven recipes.
- Learn to develop and conduct experiments to prove or disprove hypothesis.
- Learn principles to develop and improve manufacturing methods and processes.
- Design and implement production and process improvement tooling.
- Develop SMT machine programs for new products or product transfers.
- Execute plans to implement corrective actions for quality and cost reduction.
- Assist to plan work force utilization for work flow, space requirements, ergonomics, and safety.
- Assist in the assembly for prototypes and gather data during builds.
- Learn to read specifications from drawing package/schematic.
- Define problems correctly, collect data, establish facts, and work with engineer to draw valid conclusions.
- All other duties as assigned by management to ensure the success of Futaba.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in engineering, CAD, programming or related field; or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 2-4 years’ experience and/or training as Engineering Technician.
- Proficient with engineering related software and hardware, and competent with AutoCAD.
- Proficient MS Windows and Office skills, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook are required.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements:
- Communication skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Further, ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
- Advanced math skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
